Mr. Miles has a robust employment counseling and litigation practice. As a trusted advisor, he routinely provides advice to employers about the practical and legal implications of everyday employment decisions, including drafting and negotiating employment agreements and restrictive covenants, implementing effective workplace policies and practices, disciplining and terminating employees, conducting sensitive workplace investigations and payroll audits, and preventing discrimination, harassment, and retaliation in the workplace.
 

In addition to his experience as an employment litigator, Mr. Miles also represents companies and individuals in a variety of other litigation matters, including real estate disputes, trust and estate litigation, theft of trade secrets, violation of non-compete agreements, and general business disputes.
 

• Obtained complete defense verdict for a paving company in an FLSA trial involving a former employee that alleged he was entitled to substantial overtime
• Obtained summary judgment in First Amendment lawsuit brought by several former school administrators
• Obtained summary judgment in age and race discrimination lawsuit filed against a school district
• Obtained summary judgment in sex and race discrimination lawsuit filed against a large hospital system
• Obtained summary judgment on behalf a municipality where former police officers alleged that the city’s early retirement policy violated the ADEA
